Ryan Stutzman has been a music educator and commercial trumpet/electronics performer for over a decade. He holds a Bachelor of Music Education degree from Metropolitan State University of Denver and a Master of Science degree in Music Technology from Indiana University-Purdue University at Indianapolis. In addition to his public positions Ryan is a member of the Emmy Award winning Denver Philharmonic Orchestra. His past positions include: Associate Professor of Music Theory at IUPUI, Visual Caption Head of the Music City Drum and Bugle Corps, and a member of the Blue Knights and Phantom Regiment Drum and Bugle Corps.
His recognitions include: the Emmy for Best Arts Feature (2017), the John Philip Sousa Band Award, a full-tuition scholarship to IUPUI, numerous 5A and 2A Colorado State Band Championships. He is a five-time Drum Corps International World Class Finalist as a performer. He is a two-time Drum Corps International Open Class Finalist and World Class Semi-Finalist as an educator. Ryan has been recognized by the Commissioner of Education for his Dedication to Creative Education by the Colorado Department of Education. In 2015 he published his thesis: The Sonification of Digital Image Pixel Data.
